I'm Ronald Akako, and I run Ron Laundry Services and Ironing from Kawangware here in Nairobi. Laundry and ironing is the whole of what I do, so my days go into washing clothes through, drying them properly, folding them down and pressing them until they're ready to wear. I've been doing this work for three years. Shirts, trousers, uniforms, bed sheets and curtains all pass through my hands, and I sort each load by what the fabric and the colours actually need rather than putting everything through the same way. Beyond Kawangware I take work across Waithaka, Dagoretti, Uthiru, Ruthimitu, Riruta Satellite and Congo, so I stay close to the homes I'm serving instead of stretching myself across the whole of Nairobi. I'm available and taking on laundry now, from a household's full load down to a few pieces that only need ironing. On the ironing I work into the collars, cuffs and seams rather than running the iron across the front of a shirt, because that's the part anyone notices once the garment is on.
When I say your washing will be ready, that's when it's ready, and you can plan around it. I keep myself readily available, so you're not left chasing me for an answer or sitting on a growing pile while you wait to hear back. My rates stay affordable, which means you can send laundry out as often as you actually need to instead of storing it up until it turns into a whole day of work for you. You also get clothes back neat. I return them folded properly and pressed flat, so what you receive goes straight into the wardrobe and you're not redoing anything I've already handled. Working out of Kawangware and around Waithaka, Dagoretti and Uthiru keeps me near enough to fit into how your week actually runs, and you deal with me directly every time rather than a different person on each visit. If you want something handled a particular way, tell me once and that's how I'll do it from then on.
