Plumbing is what I do, all of it, and I do it out of Dagoretti Corner. Around here people know me as Jeremy thee plumber. A tap that won't stop dripping, a toilet that never flushes properly, a drain backing up into the shower, or a run of pipe that needs pulling out and replaced from scratch, that's my ordinary day's work. Dagoretti Corner and the estates packed in around it keep me busy, so you'll find me working in Kawangware, Riruta, Satellite, Ngando and Waithaka, and I take jobs out towards Lavington, Woodley and Kikuyu. Plenty of what I handle sits in rental housing, where a fault in one unit turns into somebody else's ceiling by the following morning. I work in family homes too, on anything from the fitting that's been leaking quietly for months to a full length of pipework that has reached the end of its life.
I live in the area I work in. The buildings here are familiar to me before I arrive, and I know how the older blocks were piped compared with what's gone up more recently, so I can usually tell from your description alone if I'm coming for a blockage, a pressure problem, or a joint that has finally let go. You get a straight answer early rather than a long process of elimination at your expense. When I finish a job I want it closed for good. I replace what failed instead of nursing it along, because a joint that's only been tightened lets go again and you're looking at the same wet patch a few months later. I'll show you what actually went wrong and say plainly if it was a one off or if the rest of that line is heading the same way, so you can plan for it instead of being caught out by it.
